in Entertainment,television

Now that Cinemax’s Transporter series is building its cast, they’ve added a few well known names to the fray of the ensemble of the series that is based on the film franchise of the same name.

Delphine Chaneac, whom Americans were introduced to in the slightly uncomfortable yet well written sci fi movie Splice as the genetic creature of focus, will be joining the Transporter cast as the mysterious character known as Olivia.

But I did mention an alumni.  Alumni of what?  Of the film franchise!

The series has landed Francois Berléand to play the role of Inspector Tarconi!  If this all sounds familiar, it is.  Berléand played the role of Tarconi in the silver screen versions as well.

I’m amazed he’s found the time to take the role of Tarconi, considering what a busy actor he is in the French side of entertainment, with more than 125 movies and 60 TV roles padding his resume!

Nothing helps a transition between film and TV better than having some old regulars reprise their roles.  It could very well help with a feeling of familiarity with the series while we adjust to watching Chris Vance play driver Frank Martin in the adaptation.

It will be wonderful to see Delphine Chaneac in a new role, and that of a human.  We’ll be able to see more of her talent beyond playing a curious experimental hybrid!

Other Transporter cast so far, also includes Andrea Osvart.
